Founders Mark Pluhacek and Molly Romero took over 18 months to develop their vision for the space, which Mark describes as “a neighborhood place with old-house charm, great food, a focused yet extensive wine list, exquisitely landscaped patio dining, and where people can come to spend an afternoon, an evening, or just drop in for a good meal or glass of wine.”
In keeping with the neighborhood and its traditions, Mark and Molly have discovered that Marks has become a place where people might encounter old friends at the next table—and often make new ones.
Marks’ menu involves American and Italian standbys with a hint of French influence and a dash of Asian flair—all with an eye toward providing guests gluten-free and vegetarian options. Valuing fresh and local ingredients, Marks keeps its preparations on site, and offers remarkable variety from its tiny kitchen. Marks even has a rooftop garden where vegetables and herbs are grown on-site.
The owners and staff invite Marks’ regulars and newcomers to come in to the home we have created and give us a chance to show you how much we appreciate our guests. Whether it’s your first time visiting Marks or whether you’ve enjoyed countless visits, we look forward to showing you why Marks is the place “where people go out to feel at home.”
